About Us

I’m Sara, a proud tribal member of the Cherokees and owner of Modern Native Trading Co! I am deeply inspired by my ancestors' profound beliefs and teachings. The spirits of my grandfather and great-grandfather, both Native traders, ignite my passion for creating Modern Native Trading.

 

My mission is to honor their legacy by weaving timeless traditions into our contemporary world through a modern perspective and understanding. I enjoy collaborating with talented individuals from Native communities and sourcing materials from various tribes. Supporting Native Americans is a core value of mine, and I firmly believe in the wisdom of Indigenous spirituality. I find fulfillment in sharing that wisdom with others, striving to empower and create a nurturing environment in a world that often moves too quickly.

 

As a certified massage therapist, shiatsu acupuncturist, and Reiki healer, I have witnessed remarkable transformations in my clients through the art of energy work. This beautiful practice revitalizes the subtle energy systems of the body, releasing stagnation and unlocking the innate healing potential within each of us.  It further inspired me to foster deeper connections between body, mind, and spirit. I learned how important the relationship between the subconscious mind and the universe's infinite intelligence is.

 

As a mother of five, I understand the profound societal pressures our youth face today. It deeply concerns me to see the struggles many endure and the mental toll this takes on all of us. Suffering is a familiar story for my ancestors, who created rich ceremonies and rituals to navigate their challenges. In today’s fast-paced world, clarity can often feel out of reach. Yet, as we calm our minds and connect with our true selves, we can shed the burdens of our identities. In this peaceful state, we experience acceptance, love, joy, and serenity, guiding us toward a fulfilling life and empowering us to embrace the insights gained from these transformative practices.

 

At Modern Native Trading Co., we offer a thoughtfully curated collection of products from around the globe to support our personal journeys of healing and growth. While not all items are sourced directly from Native American tribes, we ensure that indigenous artisans from both North and South America craft all our Native American tools. We wholeheartedly embrace the ancient wisdom of diverse cultures and integrate their tools into our offerings.
